Haul and Pray
“I am only accepted as long as I am useful. If I don’t earn my keep, if I don’t constantly prove my worth, I might as well just disappear. And wouldn’t that be better for everyone?”
Story: you are a jackal-faced demon far away from home, and while there is nothing you want more than to belong, humans aren’t particularly eager to open their hearts to you. You should’ve perhaps grown used to it, but it stings every single time.
The Architect takes care of you somewhat, and he ordered you to go and retrieve some very precious cargo. The road to the meeting point will be tough, and your way back through the woods will probably be even tougher.
But there is a chance you won’t be alone this time, Collector.
- Haul your cargo all the way back to the Mansion
- Pray to resolves situations where weapons are useless
- Collect items to receive useful action cards
- Receive unique hand-crafted feedback for every action
Controls: mouse only. [LEFT-CLICK] to go through text events, drag-n-drop to manage your inventory and use action cards. Not every item can fit into every slot, and some situations can only be peacefully resolved through very specific actions, but the world will react to your every choice.
But I want more! The game shares the universe with the upcoming Crawlyard game. Check it out if you want to learn more about the characters.

managed to beat the game without picking up anything other than the priestess!
i managed to survive until the end. i think i chose right on most events, though i don't know how health works.
Congrats~
There's both physical and mental health, but they are hidden from the player... a little too well, perhaps. Well, I didn't intend to make the game too hard anyway.
well if you wanted to show them in a not too obvious way you could have the jackal already conveniently shown on the screen visibly become more injured or distressed.
Fun game!
Fun, yes but I still wonder if I got a good, a bad or the only ending.
Then I have a secret to tell you: the game currently has six endings, but two of them are insanely tricky to trigger because you have to be very unlucky and deliberately seek death. They mostly exist as a safeguard against extreme RNG.
Here's a breakdown so you don't have to restart the game over and over:
- survive for 40 events and use the "Pray" action 5 or less times
- survive for 40 events and use the "Pray" action 6 or more times
- bad end 1: succumb to physical wounds before meeting the priestess
- bad end 2: succumb to physical wounds after meeting the priestess
- bad end 3: have a mental breakdown before meeting the priestess
- bad end 4: have a mental breakdown after meeting the priestess
Hope this helps, and thank you for playing!
Not bad! Unclear if there are multiple endings (at least from the one I got), and its a bit long to play through multiple times, but it was pretty fun while it lasted.
